[It's kind of hard not to recognize that blue fur, especially when he added to his cuteness factor with that hat. But... it's just as hard not to notice how down he is, which is something Tear can't ignore.]

Hey, what's wrong?

[Oh look, it's that nice lady he met by the fountain! Perry remembers her fondly. It's a little awkward for them to meet again under these circumstances, considering the last time he was pretending to be a dimwitted pet. Of course, he doesn't want her to worry either. He'll just shake his head quickly and wipe that sad frown off his face.

Everything's a-okay, ma'am. Nothing to see here.]

[Tear responds with a small smile, but is still walking over to make sure of that.]

Is that so?

[Vigorous nodding. He's got her smiling and he'd like to keep it that way.]

[You're lucky you're so cute or she would continue to implore on why he seemed so sad.] Where did you get that hat?

[He's quiet for a moment, his eyes surveying the area to see if anyone else is near. Then he speaks in a low, croaking voice:] Home.

[... Did he just talk? Yes he did. She'd heard about some of the animals having the ability to talk here, but that doesn't make it any less of a surprise. Trying to hide that now.]

From your home...?

[He nods firmly. He may have gotten it from the clothing store, but there's no doubt it's the same hat he has back home. There's no way to replicate it.]

I see... What are you, anyway? [She's seen jabberwockys, but nothing like a platypus.]

[dynamicfury]

A platypus. [Tear could take comfort in the fact that she isn't the first who doesn't know what a platypus is.]

Platypus...? [Thank goodness she spends so much time in the library, she could find more information on such creatures there.]

May I ask where you've been staying?

[dynamicfury]

[He turns to point at the clothing store. It's been pretty comfy, especially when he could find old shirts that nobody wants and make a nest out of them.]

On your own...? [If he's fine staying there she won't force him to live with someone, but the little guy looked so worried when she spotted him just now.]

How many know you live there?

[dynamicfury]

No one. [Not that he knows of, anyway. His little hideout is very secluded behind shelves and such.]

What about food? How do you deal with that situation? [Don't mind her, she's just overly concerned about such cute fluffy things.]

[He points to the grocery store nearby. There's a nice variety of food there, even if they don't have platypus chow.]
