[Since he first arrived, Perry has been spending most of his nights hidden away in the back of the clothing store, nestled safely between a few boards and shelves. Now that the weather is steadily turning colder, however, he's decided to stop being stubborn about this. He may have a family back home, but right now he's in Luceti and he'd very much ( Read more... )

[Winry had left the window open because sometimes the dry heat provided by the heaters is a little too much. When she returns from closing the window she half expected on of Al's cats to be curled up by the heater, but no. Instead it was that funny blue animal from before, at the clothing store.]

You again?

[Perry blearily opens one eye to gaze up at Winry. When he trespassed into her house, he honestly didn't know it was hers. Then he waits patiently. Is she going to kick him out?]

Didn't I tell you it was getting cold outside? [She kneels down and ruffles the fur on the top of his head a little bit.]

Are you hungry?

[He produces his trademark chattering sound in response. Perry is indeed getting hungry.]

What do things like you eat? [Unfortunately Winry never got the chance to look up what a platypus is at the library.] Meat? Lettuce?

[Honestly? A real platypus eats larvae, worms, fish eggs... things like that. But if someone were to try and feed it to Perry, he'd stick his bill up at it. Lettuce will be fine, but he can't communicate that to Winry. Let's hope she picks the right option on her own.]

[Hm. Well his face does almost look like a duck. If she had fish, she'd try that. Alas the final can of tuna was eaten yesterday, some of it going to the cats. After a moment of pondering she'll get up and go to the kitchen. She returns with her dog's water bowl (with the name Den etched into it) and a head of lettuce. She sets both down for Perry.]

I hope this is alright.

[What, she won't even shred the lettuce into smaller, easier to manage bits? Perry approaches it, stares at it for a few seconds and finally tries to tear a leaf off with his bill. He'll manage, but it's going to be a bit of a chore if Winry keeps watching him. If he wasn't pretending to be a normal platypus, he could turn this thing into salad in no time.]

Just don't pick a fight with Den, Nina, or Alexander, okay?

[Since Perry is a resident she hopes that is translated and he understands, but doesn't expect a response because he's never answered her before. She'll give him some privacy for a few minutes while she heads off into her room.]

[There is indeed no response, but the message is heard loud and clear. Judging by the water dish, Den is another pet in the house, which means Nina and Alexander are likely to be the same. If they leave Perry alone, Perry will leave them alone.

As soon as Winry leaves the room, his eyes take in his surroundings shiftily before he gets up on his hind legs. Then he reaches out to tear a few lettuce leaves off the head with his front paws. Theeere we go, this is much easier.]

[As Winry fusses about in her room, something approaches Perry. A medium sized dog that probably towers over Perry. He gives the platypus an incredulous look. Who let this weirdo in?]

[Perry turns to give the dog a long, hard stare. What's with the mechanical leg? Is this dog half-robot? That's... very strange. Then it hits him that it's probably impolite to stare at the leg, so he looks up at Den's face instead. The big question is; is this dog friendly to strange animals?]
