[ House 55 actually has a fireplace in it, and someone is sure to have started a fire in there recently, although it may be 2am, so it's probably low key.

Derek's come in from wandering outside in the woods for a little bit. He's a good survivalist, but coffee is not something easy to get when you're roughing it out in the trees. Once he's made some and has a cup, he'll wander out into the living room.

And pause at the sight of...what is that on the rug?

He'll take a sip of the coffee, put the mug on the nearby coffee table, and crouch down to study this...unexpected house guest.]

[Perry is still fast asleep and looking quite content. If Derek is already familiar with the animals, it's painfull obvious that Perry looks quite unlike your average Platypus. He's blue and a lot cuter, for one. He also has the trademark Filial wings, indicating that he is very much a resident as opposed to the Luceti wildlife.]

House 55

[Hmn. Up until he notes the wings, Derek is assuming a Luceti critter managed to get in. Once he sees the wings, though, he figures it out. Quietly, he makes his way into his own room.

He's back in a few minutes with a pillow and a blanket. The pillow he carefully places near Perry's head; the blanket is gently placed over him. That done, Derek will take another sip of coffee and head for the bathroom; he needs a shower and to shave off the not-quite-a-beard he's got going. He'll be back in a few minutes.]

[As soon as the blanket is placed over his back, Perry stirs. He opens his eyes just in time to see Derek leaving the room. It isn't someone he's seen around the village before, but it doesn't seem like a bad guy. Then his gaze falls onto the pillow.]

[He purrs contently, shifting his weight onto the pillow entirely to doze off again. Okay, so maybe he is a little bit pampered. He can't help it; he's used to sleeping on the beds of his owners.]

[Once he's clean and the like, Derek will wander back out and settle in one of the couches. He'll keep watching the strange blue platypus and drinking coffee.]

[Eventually, Perry will wake up again. He opens his bill into something of a yawn, then lifts his bottom into the air and sticks his front paws forward to stretch his muscles, similar to a cat. He's not an idiot, of course; he knows Derek is sitting right there. That's why, instead of doing anything remotely intelligent, he'll just get up and stare blankly into space.]

House 55

[Derek will watch this display will he continues to nurse his coffee, interest evident in his eyes. Once Perry is done, Derek will speak.]

Hungry or thirsty?

[It's the wings, dude.]

[The sad thing is that even after all this time, Perry hasn't figured out humans can understand him if he were to actually try and speak to them. He blinks a few times, his tail giving the ground a few restless slaps.]

Well, follow me. Let's see if we can find something you'd like.

[Derek will start for the kitchen]

Need a bowl to drink out of, or are you able to hold a cup?

[A moment of silence follows. Then he trots after Derek, taking his sweet time. It might be best to just give him a bowl, because with the level of 'braindead' he's trying to radiate, a cup would be completely ignored.]

[Derek will go about opening cabinets to pull out a couple of bowls. One of them is immediately filled with water and placed on the floor, and then Derek heads for the 'fridge.]

Kinda weird seeing you here. They're pretty incompetent in some things, but I've never known the Malnosso to drag in a resident that didn't have the ability to talk and the like. Heck, I live with a couple of bipedal turtles, but I can guarantee you they're smarter than some humans I knew back home.

[He rummages through the left overs and stuff set aside for more meals. He'll glance back at Perry for a moment before giving the contents a thoughtful frown.]

Be a shame if you were the first that couldn't talk for themselves. Especially since I have no clue what to feed a platypus. Wouldn't want to make you sick or something by giving you the wrong food.

...You know that even the regular animals talk here, right?

House 55

[Perry starts lapping up the water from the bowl, listening to Derek's words intently. He did know the resident animals can speak, but... Animals that were taken from other worlds too? Really? And there's intelligent turtles in the village? That's all very good to know. He should seek them out; they may be trustworthy.

As for the food, if Derek tries to give him anything unhealthy he'll simply refuse to eat it.]

[After a few minutes, Derek will settle a second bowl to the ground, filled with different foods. Some fruit, a little bit of grilled fish...even a little bit of pasta. That done, he'll go pour himself another cup of coffee and settle at the kitchen table, still watching Perry carefully.]

[All in all, not a bad selection of food! Perry dives straight in for the fish. Once that's gone, he'll eat the fruit, but the pasta will remain ignored. His stomach can't handle that. Once he's done, he laps down some more water and glances up at Derek.]

[Derek will pick up the bowl and repackage the pasta, carefully putting his own name on the lid. He'll glance back to Perry.]

More fish? Or more fruit?
