100 Men I Have Slept With (and other poems)

Jun 23, 2009 04:22

Shit, I just found out that some poor fucker bought a copy of my wretched book. That's a grand total of 25 sold copies--since the book rocked the world in February, 2009. Sylvia Plath best pull her pretty little head out of the oven. And Anne Sexton needs to step out of her infamous suicide car.

I mean, if you like VERY queer poems about sex and love and God: then go for it! Hell, my queer little voice is like no other (just imagine a cross between Emily Dickinson and Charles Bukowski). Plus a dash of Mother Teresa--to help keep everything nice and sane (I often write about poverty and the homeless). Oh my! Anyway, I hope you get the idea?

Cheers,

Dylan Mitchell

P.S. Currently reading: HAM ON RYE (Charles Bukowski). His childhood was a nightmare, so the book is a painful read. I especially liked POST OFFICE and WOMEN: he used a lot of humor in both books. He had a special talent for finding humor in some of life's most tragic situations. BTW, my book (100 Men I Have Slept With)--can be had on Amazon.com. Just ignore Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan. I'm kind of in the middle? Here's a sample poem. Hope you enjoy:

VAN GOGH'S CROWS

If I should die
as the sun sets
and the crows fly

will you forget me?
If I should die
as my blood drips

and the saints cry
will you remember me?
After the paint's dry

and the critics lie
and the crows die
will you forget me?

After I die
and a new sunrise
and the crows fly

will you remember me?
