Oh, eljay. I'm sorry I neglect you, you're still my favorite. You know this, right? I may spend a lot of time with that other social networking site these days and it's bite-sized interactions but here where I can really spill out the words and try to paint the picture accurate is where my heart lies.
I saw Lou Reed last night. It was a performance of Metal Machine Music-- No songs, no vocals. I'd like to say "an hour of Lou Reed on keys or guitar, a dude making the craziest sounds I've ever heard from a saxophone, and a third fiddling with laptops." I'd like to say that, but it might've been three hours. I fell in and out of a trance and loved the experience. I was hoping to hear at least one song I recognized but in retrospect it would've ruined the ambiance so well established and enjoyed.
Today is my thirty-second half-birthday. Some have asked "shouldn't that be your 63rd half-birthday?" and I say no, full birthdays are full birthdays and half-birthdays are half-birthdays. Being a firm believer in birthday head, I hope the fiance gives me a half-hummer.
Anything else? I got my tax return, it's going to be my new nest egg. I love living in NYC more and more every day. I had a small gathering and a few people came and enjoyed themselves. I love hearing at least three different languages whenever I go into Manhattan. I love the constant flow of Asian girls walking down the streets. I love watching people be people and the opportunity to blend into a crowd. I love that Spring is slipping in and everyone feels a little more fiesty.
in so many ways i love the spring,
ingrid,
