Well, last night made up for Halloween itself. Ingrid's sister's ex-boyfriend was throwing a party and we attended. NYC, where every association has at least 2 steps. I'm going to start making a chart on my wall.
It was a blur of people and I stumbled home vodkadrunk. Highlights included me demanding a girl give me 3 reasons to justify her statement that women were better than men. (She came up with multiple orgasms and birth. When she couldn't come up with a third, I threw her a lifeline and appended that women are the more compassionate gender.) My other favorite moment was this exchange:
Random girl screaming across the roof: Hey, what kind of engineer are you?
Me: Data!
Girl: You're making that up!
Somedays, I only wish that were true.
Yesterday also brought my projector screen so down went the cardboard and up with much frustration the new screen. I bought my first drill for this process. One side was just a screw so no troubles there but the other side of the wall is 4" deeper so coming up with a solution that could hold the weight and not skew the angle was a trial-and-error process. We ended up using a piece of metal screwed into the wall with copper wire tied between it and then hook on that side of the screen. Not perfect but not off enough to distort the image so I'm refraining for taking it down again.
nyc is all about the rooftops,
