Apartment contender #2 is a winnah!
Just when I'd given up any hope of hearing back and contacted a different broker ready to charge me that extra month's rent just for finding a place, the guy who was looking into the apartment I wanted called me back and said that it's probably a go.
He talked with the management who needs to talk to.. someone who won't be available until Monday morning. I get on a train and go home Monday afternoon, so I'm putting a giant pile of faith in this happening. It certainly wouldn't be the end of the world if I went back to Liverpool without an apartment awaiting my return but it would certainly be a disappointment.
