I'm staring
this Toshiba laptop and ponderin' hard if I want to buy it or not. Not only would it be good for doing my dayjob, it would handle almost anything I wanted to do with audio.
Well, after I shell out more monies for pre-amps and mics and whatnot...
I haven't had a new computer in 3 years, a laptop in about 7. I'm thinking it's about time. My boss said that the company would be willing to pay what they'd normally pay for a laptop (about $1k) and let me cover the rest but the guy who is in charge of buying laptops (also known as the coworker who likes to tell me why I can't do whatever it is I'm wanting to do) says there would be issues of who owns the laptop in case I suddenly quit.
Sure, there's solutions-- like me paying them back out of vacation time owed if I quit or automatic deductions from my check.. but I'm thinking it would be easiest to just buy the thing myself.
edit: After staring at it for like 4 hours, I took the plunge and am now $2k poorer. C'mon new machine!
Anyone? Experience with Toshiba laptops good or bad? Help coerce me into pushing that "Please take all my money!" button.
