I just missed her this fall playing a free festival near my house cause I was working through the weekend. The one time I decide not to blow a deadline!
Nice that she lived to see Obama elected. But I've read that she really wanted to sing at the inauguration despite her illness.
She's just briefly heard as a backup singer in the last part of this next one, but it's where I first heard her voice as a little kid (me at age 8 = obsessed Janis Ian fan) and thought "What the hell is that?" only later seeking out her own records.
[edit: it's just occurred to me that it might be her on the guitar, as well. Anybody know?]
