Pissed me off. I can't get my entry to work. It's blocking me using a demand that I type in security thing, like what I have comments there, to confirm that I'm not a bot or something. I recognize that particular combination of letters from another time when the security failed. So my update couldn't be done there. On the good side, I came here and found out that my friend
Morganor has started a Live Journal. You should check her out. She's witty, she's well written and she likes me. What more could a person ask for?
So, here's the great entry that failed:
I managed to get the essay done, as the entry before this one stated. I did do some minor editing, but it didn't need a whole lot. I managed to spell everything right, including those nasty from-form transpositions that my fingers seem so fond of.
I printed off a copy and then laid down for a nap. Boy got home a little before 4 and woke me up to find out if he could go on my computer and play. I said sure and whined about being woken up before my 4 pm alarm. He woke me at 10 past 4. I wish I'd had a whole lot more sleep.
We had macaroni and pasta sauce, one of the Classico types and I made a white sauce with a titch of garlic powder. I do like red sauces, but I really love a white sauce with them. It's so easy to make in the microwave. I'd not bother if I had to do it on the stovetop. That's way too much bother.
Then it was time to go to school. I dumped my books off at the library, thus I am now assured that I don't have to worry about any more fines accruing. Then it was off to class.
Tonight we had two people present. They did presentations instead of essays. I would have done one, but I got writer's block. If I'd been able to present about child sexual abuse and adult survivors of that, I'd have rocked the boat. However, that wasn't part of the class...
The presentations were quite interesting. One was about Fort Walsh, the massacre that happened there, Sitting Bull and the Sioux coming up after Little Big Horn and the movement west of the North-West Mounted Police (before they were combined with the Dominion Police in the East and becoming the RCMP). The second presentation was about the probation system. One of my classmates is a probation officer and she talked about how people convicted of crimes are rated, the sentencing stuff, supervision, and her role within that. It was very interesting to learn that stuff.
Then the prof talked about the prison systems, both provincial and federal, the various security levels and such. Did you know that Canada has a super-max? Here they call it "Special Handling Unit" though. It's for the baddest of the bad, the men (and it's only men) who are considered dangerous to staff and to other prisoners.
Then we got to leave. Bran and Ladyfriend picked me up and I came home. Now, I'm typing and snacking on some lemon pudding. I didn't used to like lemon anything. I'm not sure how I feel about lemon merangue pie, but I like this pudding stuff.
So now I'm going to take the rest of the night off. Tomorrow I'll start on doing my notes for finals, but I'm not going to get myself out of bed specifically to do that. I'll get up when my bladder insists that I drag myself up. If it's too early (before noon) I plan on going back to sleep...because i can.
