no not really.
but i just found out that i have REM Sleep Paralysis. i'm going to tell my mom and ask her to take me to a sleep specialist because it's relly weird.
Sleep paralysis is a condition characterized by paralysis of the body shortly after waking up (known as hypnopompic paralysis) or, less often, shortly before falling asleep (known as hypnagogic paralysis). (that's the one i have) Sleep paralysis occurs when the brain is awakened from a REM state into essentially a normal fully awake state, but the bodily paralysis is still occurring. This causes the person to be fully aware, but unable to move. In addition, this state is usually accompanied by certain specific kinds of hallucinations. i hear someone screaming or crying and i get really, really scared...like there is a ghost or something. and i can hardly keep my eyes open, even they are parylised. This state usually lasts no more than two minutes before a person is able to either return to full REM sleep or to become fully awake, though the sense of how much time has gone by is often distorted during sleep paralysis.
Most common Halucinations

Vividness
Fear

Common

Sensing a "presence" (often malevolent) i think there's a ghost and i get extremely scared.
Pressure/weight on body (especially the chest)
Impending sense of doom/death

Fairly common

Auditory hallucinations (often footsteps or indistinct voices, or pulsing noises) footsteps, screaming, crying..but in the distance. and the screaming isn't like, saying anything i can understand. it's just kind of, wailing.
Visual hallucinations such as people or shadows walking around the room

Less common

Floating sensation (sometimes associated with out-of-body experiences)
Seemingly seamless transition into full hallucinations or dreaming, also associated with out-of-body experiences
Tactile hallucinations (such as a hand touching or grabbing)

Rare

Falling sensation
Vibration

Possible causes

Some report that various factors increase the likelihood of both paralysis and hallucinations. These include:

Sleeping in a supine position (facing upwards)
Irregular sleeping schedules; naps, sleeping in
Increased stress
Sudden environmental/lifestyle changes

oh my god. just researching this freaked me out. i know sometimes i get all "oh i'm going to die" and "i have some disease" but this time it's real. shit, i'm really scared. reading the stuff gave me goosebumps. this disease is also said to develop during teenagehood so yeah, i'm a teenager. just recently it's been happening though. i thought it was a nightmare but i was so sure i was awake. then it happened again and again and i was like "ok, this is for real". we were talking about sleep disorders in psych yesterday and he mentioned this one and my brain just went "ding ding ding! look it up!" so i did. i was always afraid or the dark and of ghosts. i always sleep with a light on.
