Title: Marauders Split

Summary: James and Sirius confront Remus about Lily.
Remus sat in the library reading quietly when he spotted James, accompanied by Sirius, making a bee-line towards him.
They stopped in front of him, but he pretended not to notice.
Sirius mumbled something to James who nodded grimly but was still staring at Remus. Remus sighed and finally looked up. If looks could kill, Remus would be dead three times over.
“Prongs, Padfoot,” Remus said, acknowledging the pair.
“Don’t talk to us like we’re your friend, werewolf,” Sneered Sirius.
Remus looked around nervously then glared at Sirius.
“Would you MIND keeping it down? I don’t need the entire school knowing.”
“But you don’t mind letting the entire school overhear your asking Evans out?” Snapped James, his fist clenching around his wand inside his robe’s pocket.
“I didn’t mean for the entire school to find out,” Remus mumbled.
“But you did,” Sirius paused to let it sink in then continued, “What you didn’t do, that you should have done, was ask Prongs if he’d care.”
Remus rolled his eyes and stood up so James and Sirius were no longer towering over him.
“Listen,” he said, “I didn’t realize that I had to ask James’ permission to ask a girl out. Lily is not his ex, and she’s single. Just because James is jealous doesn’t mean that he should take it out on me.” Remus pushed past the pair and walked out of the library.
“Git,” Sirius and James both muttered.
