this weekend was great. friday night dan and i watched all the indie portlanders swarm around burnside and watched "love liza", which was really sweet. a great movie. saturday, the radio station put on a big concert with the planet the, the fallouts, the thermals, and mount sims. matt's new stuff is really awesome- darker, more joy division/new order influence in effect.

everything was fun and great. i even forgot it was easter until we were at applebee's on sunday morning and a bunch of people in church clothes starting coming in. how awful. i couldn't beleive i was technically eating easter brunch at applebee's underneath haphazardly placed boyz II men posters and trumpets. applebee's carries on the TGIF tradition of stapling random shit to the walls as a decorating theme.
anyway, i have a little less than three weeks left at school and can't wait to go home. i'm going to help my mom sell the house before i go to LA for martin's graduation. then i'll probably jet back home for a couple weeks before going back down there to live and work for a few months.
i listened to the new secret machines today at work and it was bad. i will listen again before confirming this, but as far as it sounded to me, it was a huge step backward into monotony and mainstream "rock". i get so disappointed with bands that release great EPs, live shows, or promising singles and then churn out a really terrible album.
i was telling my friend keth today that when i'm in LA i'll be totally unpopular. I'm going to sit around everyday drinking wine, smoking cigarettes, smearing eyeliner all over my face, and writing songs. Everyday I will wear this dress with leggings.
