im burning....the asphalt is my glory
well, after a long deployment, and having not written in this in over six months, i do not expect anyone to get this, but im hoping someone reads it.
we are home after a 7 month deployment( the ship was gone for 9, i was here for 7 of it) which is a long deployment. longer than normal.
i went to the mess decks moments ago and on my way back, colors went down. So, like the shipmate in front of me, i halted smartly and my righ hand raised to the bill of my cover, and i froze. A moment passed and again the whistles blew to carry on, our hands dropped. As quickly as i stopped, i started again, on my way to drink my tea.
it was simply amazing. My first COLORS in california, WITH my ship. truly wonderful...
i expect none of you to understand.
i was never a great civilian. I love the navy. so far...anyway, i had to post that.
