Had my 5th one yesterday @ Pan Pac, hosted by them as part of their Appreciation Lunch. had pretty much the same dishes as the day before when we hosted our exhibitors. Food was ok, the shark's fin was VERY GOOD! the rest are so so lar...
they had some entertainment arranged, Lion Dance, Dragon Dance and tis clown juggler guy that isnt very good haha but oh well at least they had some kind of entertainment, not like ours, so boring
then today, i had my 6th and 7th Lo Hei.
6th at Mandarin Oriental. this is by far, the most enjoyable Lo Hei i had this year. The food was great, every single dish was great. the entertainment was interesting and engaging. Justin Misson was the perfect emcee too...fun games, lots of laughter, great food, what an enjoyable lunch!
then we were seated on the same table at CMA. thank god she wasnt there, if not later lunch cannot digest haha.
Oriental's food i must say, is the best among the many many lo hei lunches/dinners i've been invited to. interesting ideas. Like their Yu Sheng, they dont use carrot as the main thing, it's actually er, i also dunno wat haha looks like those keropok things but i'm not quite sure what it is. Then on top of pok-choi, they also put in fried salmon skin...and their oil is coriander olive oil instead of the usual. so it's a really interesting combi and honestly it tastes much better than the usual Yu Sheng haha. Maybe i'm just too sick of the usual Yu Sheng.
then the soup was served in coconut shell, gave it a very interesting taste too 格外清甜...and the fish, it was served in paper pocket, like 纸包鸡.
the food presentation is great too, like the glutinous rice...a pity i didn't get to try e dessert. went to get stg from monica, then by the time i came up, everyone's leaving alr, so i only managed to get a picture of it haha
i tot e table setup was quite pretty too, love that towel ring...
and Oriental is the only one that prepared the Lo-Hei chopsticks...so i didnt have to "clean" my chopsticks after the mess of Lo-Hei.
they have even put in effort for their door gift, not just the usual boring red paper bag with 2 oranges. they used those draw string pockets dunno wat that material was (like the kind that we put jewellery in, but a bigger version"), then on top of the pair of oranges and red packets, they included a small can of tea leaves
among all the Lo-Heis, i must say i enjoyed this the most, in all aspects, from food to presentation to entertainment to door gift.
the 2nd most enjoyed lo-hei after Oriental, will have to be Keith's Hutcabb 9th Anniversary cum CNY Lo Hei Dinner @ Suntec Guildhouse.
the entertainment was equally enjoyable. played Bingo, which lloyd won something. they arranged for free manicure for ladies and shoulder and foot massage for men. and so i did my nails! haha
simply love those nails of mine! haha with white flower stickers...i realise stickers aint that bad after all, maybe next time i shd just use stickers, dun do nail art anymore..haha
and they made those "friendship" bands stuff, to be given to every guest. an interesting unique way of identifying their guests among an area that's not closed exclusively for them only.
what i liked most, was the door gift!
a Personalised Chocolate! it's a choc bar, with my company name and my name printed on it...kept nicely in this box that fits perfectly as a name card holder.
i was just telling Keith, i ought to be ashamed that as an events person, they found a new gift idea before i did! haha but really, even Lloyd was impressed with this gift man.
Hutcabb also seems to be a really fun working place...the staff were all sporting enough to dress up in all kinds of characters to entertain e guests...Harry Potter, Osama bin Laden, Skywalker, God of Fortune, Angels, Cleopatra, Princess Jasmine, Wong Fei Hong, Emperor, Spartan, Pink Panther and many more...
in addition to the company's birthday, they also celebrated the birthdays of the February babies. reminds me of Ritz days haha
with that, i've eaten 7 Yu Shengs this year. 1 more on Sat night and 1 more on Sun night and that should conclude my Lo-Hei spree for this year haha
At our SIWW Lo Hei, CE said an Ox is a castrated bull, that means, this year is going to be a year of all work and no play...and seeing that i didnt win e $10mil toto, looks like his words have come true for me..haiz...
