I miss Bohol and Cebu already! Bitin, I didn't get enough sun and I can barely see my tanlines! And I was just getting used to the breakfast buffet! (Ok, enough exclamation points.)
From the airport, we went straight to Bohol Beach Club, where we stayed for two nights.
Trees galore
The pool
The beach
No pictures of us in swimsuits though. We were all playing in the water and no one wanted to be the photographer, hehehe.
The next day our group went to visit the tourist spots. It's a shame that we didn't get to see the cave, which was what I was really looking forward to. There wasn't enough time and the kids really wanted to go swimming already. Awww.
First stop was Tagbilaran, where the Sikatuna-Legazpi Blood Compact took place. Ang init grabe.
We were all in pambahay, except for my sister (the one in black).
And she knew that we were supposed to go inside a cave. O diba ang landi, hahaha!
Next up was the Loboc River. They had a floating restaurant, where we all had our lunch. (Ang bilis noh. I think we spent more time in the van than actually exploring.)
These two cuties are the granddaughters of my dad's friend from work, Tito Mar.
Bianca (on the left) is 2, and Cheska just turned 5 last Tuesday. They're first cousins.
Imagine eating a yummy lunch on a boat with a view like this.
It wasn't too sunny, and there was a light breeze...very relaxing. No one got seasick naman.
The falls at the end of the river
I forgot what the next site was called, hehehe. But apparently it was one of the shooting locations for "Panday". "Second world" daw. I don't know what that means because I'm tuned in to GMA-7, hahaha. Oh yes, and the NPA used to blow up cars that passed through here, according to our tour guide. I suck at History so I really don't know/remember what this place is called.
"Waaaaah Tristan!" "Eden!" "Tristaaaaaaaaaaan!" "Eden! Waaaaaah!"
(Yun talaga ang impression ko sa Panday eh, hahaha)
Chocolate Hills! Langya, napagod ako dito. I climbed all of the steps just for the view. The sign said there were 214 steps, but Tito Mar actually bothered to count and he said that there were 222.
This is how a tired Janine smiles
Another one of Cheska and Bianca. I think it's really cute how Cheska is sooo protective of Bianca. Awww!
You should see them at their happiest (which is when they're in the water). Nakakagigil talaga.
We went to see the Hanging Bridge next, which is made from bamboo and cables and...I don't remember, hehehe. It didn't look sturdy at all, and it swayed from left to right. The tour guide also said that the water wasn't shallow at all. I thought that I'd be scared (I don't know how to swim, I can only float on my back. :P). But I wasn't. Hmmm.
Made it to the other end
I've always wanted to see tarsiers up close, and I didn't know they were found in Bohol. So I thought the visit to the Tarsier Reserve was a nice surpise.
The tarsiers were bigger than I expected, though.
Our last stop for the day was the Baclayon Church. No pictures, though. There was a mass going on and the church was full (there were even people outside). Oh well. It was a tiring day, but we weren't tired enough to skip swimming!
The next morning (Saturday), we rode a ship to Cebu. We didn't have any pictures of Cebu with our group (our family + Tito Mar's family) because the memory card was full, and even though we kept reminding him about it, Jay forgot to upload the pictures to mom's laptop! We went to Plantation Bay pa naman! Sayang. (I wonder how much it costs to maintain that place. It's huge.) We had our lunch at this seafood turo-turo called "No Problem" (that's a really weird name, man). Everytime we ordered something, or thanked the guy who served us, he'd say, "No problem Sir/Ma'am." Nakakatuwa. They also had pictures of Rachelle Ann Go and Erik Santos and some other ABS-CBN singers when they were eating there. Hahaha.
On Sunday, Tito Mar's family boarded a plane back to Manila, while my dad drove us to my mom's province, Medellin. Mom's parents prepared lechon just for us! Some of the neighbors even stopped by to greet my mom and to "celebrate" our visit (our last one was five years ago, hehehe).
Jay looks pretty excited to get the first serving of lechon.
With our grandparents
Goofing off in the car
Not that I didn't like staying with my grandparents, but I'm just so much more comfortable with living in the city. There are no malls or restaurants. The closest thing to civilization is a Jollibee branch which is like an hour away from the house. So I was pretty excited to go back to the Marriott hotel (where our group stayed). Buffet! Wahoo! Hehehe. We only spent the night there, though. I'm sad that it ended. But it was fun while it lasted. :) I hope we get to go on more vacations like this. Maybe this Christmas.
