I remember that I enjoyed watching Willie Wonka when I was a little kid. But after watching it on Studio 23 just now, I just feel...I dunno, annoyed. It was ridiculous how everyone was crazy about wanting to win a lifetime supply of chocolate and a tour of a chocolate factory that looked like poo. Fans of the movie, I'm sorry. But it's so nakakabobo, and really, is it even possible for people to be that shallow, bratty, rude, and stupid? The most irritating scene was when someone's husband was being held hostage, and in exchange for his life, the kidnappers wanted the wife to give them the supposedly last crate of Willy Wonka chocolate. And she was like, "We'll think it over." WTF?! Holding someone hostage for chocolate? Valuing chocolate over the life of your husband?
Even Charlie annoyed me, and his grandpa. I didn't like how their family was supposed to be "poor". Yeah, I know, we live in a third world country and the cost of living is much lower, but come on.
I've been wanting to see the new movie but I never had the time. And when I do get the chance to see it, it'd better not piss me off. Wow, I don't think I've ever been this affected by a kid's movie before. It's a first.
