After almost a week of fever, I am finally well again! :) I'm worried though. I missed TWO midterm exams (thankfully the NTREPRE one was postponed) and from what *I think* the student handbook says, absences due to sickness aren't considered approved absences. The professors have the right to deny the student of the exam, except maybe in special cases where the student is doing really well in the subject. Ang daya naman nun. I had a friggin viral infection. I could have come to school, sneezed, and infected the whole class with an itchy...something (I still don't know what I got sick with).
It's weird, the first doctor we went to actually diagnosed me with herpes zoster. I think the doctor could see the doubt written all over my face and he quickly said that it wasn't the STD (just plain "Herpes"), but that wasn't it. I guess it was the arrogant-sounding, nagmamadali tone in his voice (it was around 11:30 in the evening), and the way he diagnosed me with herpes zoster just like that *snaps fingers*. It just wasn't right. So the next morning, I got out our medical encyclopedia, flipped to the skin diseases chapter, and located herpes zoster. Then I found out that it's just the medical term for shingles! The description didn't even match my symptoms. So, I read the whole chapter (na-OC ako eh). I didn't care that I was still burning up and everything gave me a headache. Hello, the damn doctor just sent my dad all the way to Cainta in the middle of the night to buy expensive medicine (naka-4 thou...shit talaga ang doctor na yun) for a disease that I didn't even have! Besides, I had plenty of time to rest. Anyway, not one disease in the chapter matched whatever I had. And so we got a second opinion from our trusty doctor, whose office is in Parañaque pa.
So in addition to my goiter pills, I am now taking silver, because it's supposed to kill 650 germs and virus(es?!). Yes, silver, pero colloidal form, whatever that means. Haha. Basta, it's a yellowish watery liquid. Try putting silver jewelry in your mouth. Ganun lasa niya. At least that's how I imagine silver jewelry would taste like. Hehe.
Haaaay. If ever the professors allow me to take makeup midterm exams, I'll be having THREE exams this week, and 70% of thesis documentation due this Wednesday. Lord help me.
