Sad news
Got some sad news from my mum last night, a childhood friend - the middle-youngest of the kids who lived next door to us - has died in her sleep at 23. She was finishing teacher's college, was engaged to a boy and had a loving family. They think it was due to complications from mononucleuosis, which is pretty nasty (a step up from the flu) but not usually fatal. Her mum came in to administer some more anti-biotics to find she'd passed away in the night.
Today I'm sparing a thought for the lovely Cynthia, nicknamed 'Bimfy' by her little sister Sam. I hadn't seen her for about 15 years, and was looking forward to meeting up with her next time I went was home. Her parents always thought of me, years after the childhood days were over, and gave Si and me a wedding gift this year - which they didn't have to do. Cynthia had complications as a small child, I always knew she was delicate, but hadn't expected for her to die years later when seemingly she was fine.
:( Very sad. She was loved and will be missed.
