SOOOOOOO Behind on my AI8 Rewatch/Recap
So to recap what I'm doing, I've been jealous of various places in Asia getting to rewatch Season 8 of AI. So I've been pulling out the DVD and watching it back too. I am up to Final 9 (top downloads week). When last I posted, it was group 2 time (I think?)
Top 13 (Jackson 5 week) - Obviously I loved Remember the Time. Also <3ed Matt's Human Nature and Sarver's You are not Alone. I thought Jasmine was hosed & Megan should have gone. Sorry -- not a Megan stan.
Top 13 Results episode though is the star of Jackson 5 week. We get shirtless Kris jumping into the pool. And we get Kradison boogie-ing to I Want You Back and ABC. And we get rid of Jorge, thankfully. Buh-bye. It's all good. It's all love.
Top 11 (Country week) - This is one of my favorite weeks of the whole season. TMYFML. Duh. And it's not even the best performance of the night, that goes to Matt and So Small. I hated Alexis pretty much from the moment she tarted herself up because Kara said she should, so buh-bye.
Top 10 (Motown week) - How Sweet it Is I do love but this is the only one of two weeks I think Adam was better - his Tracks of My Tears is lovely. Also enjoyed Matt's Let's Get it On and he was very hosed being bottom 3.
Top 10 Results episode though. Kris is hot when Ryan fools him into thinking he's doomed. And you get a little Kradam in the group number at 2:22 and 2:32. And then the part where Lil and Kris absolutelyfreakingflail over Stevie Wonder while Adam is bored and tries to act like he is into it so his buds Lil and Kris will think he's cool - that part is hysterical if you focus on that. If anyone ever finds that video, send me the link immediately. As for Sarver going, I liked him and think he should have outlasted Megan.
Top 9 (Top Downloads week) - I can't believe how much of this I fast forwarded. Seriously. Bad. Kris and Ain't No Sunshine though. That was a seminal, beautiful performance, one of the best ever on Idol. The only other performances I half enjoyed, weirdly enough, were Anoop's Caught Up (think judges were too harsh on that) and Scott (!)'s Billy Joel song.
Top 9 Results - The Don't Stop the Music tee shirt which I am so glad Kris still owns and wears (Heh, sneaky of me to link you to an Is It Over video, huh). The freaky Mixed Up video where Kris and Matt rap. And honestly I don't recall the rest but my husband was LOL at it all and asked me if Adam has a career. I told him yes. LOL. Seriously, I am not a huge Adam stan like I am with Kris, but I do like him and his music, and I'm glad Adam is doing well post-Idol.
One more note - in ALL of the episodes above, yes, you get Kradam and then some. But there is just Krallison all over the place. When Allison is freed from the bottom 3 in Top 11 and Top 9, look who is there for her as she gets to the bench. In the little tour of Motown, in the pool, in the DSB group number. Krallison city.
So that's what I'm up to as far as my rewatch goes. Next up, year you were born week, this one was rough IIRC
