Fill this out about your SENIOR year of high school! The longer ago it was, the more fun the answers will be (or so they say).

1. Who was your best friend?
Alexander. We're still friends.

2.What sports did you play?
No sports senior year. I'd been on the rifle team as a sophomore. Back then, the only sport I was good at (or interested in) was baseball, but I had no chance of making the team. I was way too small to be taken seriously (didn't have my growth spurt until after senior year), and there was too much competition (all male Catholic prep school). I did try out as a freshman, but didn't get much of a look.

3. What kind of car did you drive?
I didn't get my license until February of senior year (driving age in NJ was 17 back then). When I was allowed to drive, it was the family VW Bus.

4. It's Friday night, where were you?
Probably at Alexander's, building plastic models.

5. Were you a party animal?
Nope, never have been.

6. Were you considered a flirt?
Nope. Also, no girls in school to flirt with.

7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
I was in the glee club freshman year, but not after that.

8. Were you a nerd?
Sure.

9. Did you get suspended/expelled?
Nope.

10. Can you sing the fight song?
Huh. I can't remember the fight song just right now (although, damn, it's right on the tip of my memory), but I can remember the Alma Mater clear as day:
Alma Mater sons be loyal, keep her name in purest light,
Never waver from her precepts, guard her banner blue and white,
Oh, sing her praise to highest skies, and be ye faithful in her eyes,
For she will foster ALL your dreams,
Her name is Seton Hall, her name is Seton Hall

11. Who was your favorite teacher?
Mr. O'Rourke, probably. American History II. He was a good guy who always encouraged me.

12.What was your school's full name?
Seton Hall Preparatory School.

13. School mascot?
A pirate. The teams were all called the Pony Pirates. It's a weird diminutive of Seton Hall U's Pirates. At the time, the school shared SHU's campus and athletic facilities (best high school gym in the state).

14. Did you go to Prom?
Nope. I had no girlfriend, so what was the point?

15. If you could go back and do it over, would you?
Nope. High school was miserable.

16. What do you remember most about graduation?
My dad gave me a very nice Seiko self-winding watch.

17. Where were you on senior skip day?
We had no such tradition.

18. Did you have a job your senior year?
Toward the end of the year, I was a porter at a Spiegel catalog order store. I worked there until my senior year of college.

19. Where did you go most often for lunch?
My buddy Gary and I used to walk down the hill to a soda shop not far from campus. I remember it mostly as the place I heard about the Kent State shootings that spring.

20. Have you gained weight since then?
Quite a bit, and even then I was overweight.

21. What did you do after graduation?
Went to college at the same campus.

22. When did you graduate?
1970.

23. Who was your Senior prom date?:
See #14.

24. Are you going to your 10 year reunion?
Didn't go, nor the 20th, nor 25th, nor any others. The people I'd most want to see don't go either.

25. Who was your home room teacher?
Didn't have one, as such. You just went to your first class in the morning, and since there weren't many electives the class tended to stay together all day. In my case, the first two periods of the day were alloted to gym (twice a week), with Religion (it was a Catholic school, after all) in first period the other days. Our gym teacher was the football coach, so we played a lot of football (tackle, no pads) early on. It was supposed to be touch football, but Coach was pretty laissez faire about instruction and supervision. A couple of dislocations and a broken arm later (none of them mine, thankfully), he got a little stricter and moved on to other sports.

Religion was similarly chaotic in that we went through, like, four teachers. We sort of gave our original teacher, Fr. K., um, a nervous breakdown. Then we were assigned Mr. M., the assistant headmaster (and a layman), who had a heart attack within about a month (I'm pretty sure that wasn't our fault, though). Next up was the head of the Religion department, Fr. B., who was okay, but overworked. He eventually passed the duties along to Mr. McM., a lay history teacher who was young and with it, so we liked him a lot, although I don't know how much actual religious theory we learned. Which was fine by me, because I'd pretty much lost the faith the year before.

I'm not so sure the answers from so long ago are more or less fun. All that statement said to me is that the meme was written by someone very young.
