I did eventually figure out how to do a proper shuffle on musikCube. A perusal of the documentation (yes, I decided to RtFM) showed that I needed to be in the "Now Playing" window instead of the "Library" window. This is already getting WAY too complicated, but at least I don't have to reject it out of hand ( Read more... )

It sounds like some of the really good speculative fiction that was being produced at that time.

Let us now mourn its loss. I doubt you'd find anything of the same quality today, simply because the publishing houses tend to go for what's sold for them before. On the rare occasions when someone does take a chance on something quirky? Chances are there will be seven imitations on the shelves within six months.

I don't know. 90% of everything is crap in any time period. Good stuff will still find it's way.

Posts like this make me wish I still read in any volume. Hmm. Perhaps I'll put the keyboard down and wander towards my bookshelves.
