From The Desk Of Shawn A. Stutler RE:The End of the Pink Invaders.
Hey Everyone,
This is a very hard post for me to write. We have been fighting it
for quite some time, but the end of the road is now quite near.
Saturday October 28th will be the final showing of Rocky Horror for
both the Pink Invaders and the Crossroads Cinema.
I first saw Rocky at the Crossroads and joined the Tiny Fools more
than 13 years ago. Ed Lipinski and I formed the Pink Invaders more
than 10 years ago. I have worked at the Crossroads ever since. Ryan
Markle and I took ownership of the business in January of 2000, and we
were even able to expand our empire into owning another twin cinema and
a live music venue. All that is gone now.
I am now roughly $200,000 in debt and it is a weekly struggle to
keep the phone, water, and electricity on. I really should have given
up a few years ago, but this place, these people, and that movie that
we all love so much has kept me here long after any sensible person
would have thrown in the towel. Only the generosity of our audience,
cast, and friends has made this possible. To anyone that has ever
performed on our stage, sat in our audience, or loaned me some money to
keep the electricity on: I sincerely thank you.

now and the end of October, plus a couple of informal Fridays as well
