The Long Game... of what, exactly? Galactic live-action Risk?

Okay, The Long Game is a bit of a comedown from Dalek. They can't all be fantastic, though, and I kind of like this ep, really...

Um, I'm quite mean to Adam in this, but that's just because he unfailingly chooses the wrong path at every turn, so really, it's that or ignore him. I don't hate that he's in the show, though.

So, spoilers up to Last ( Read more... )

Oh, I think Pegg would have been so good that he'd have made me take him seriously, it's just... he's the guy from Spaced! So it would have been the most insane crossover in my head, ever. Can you imagine a sitcom about the Master and Verity Newman pretending to be a couple? That's what rewatching Spaced would have been like!

"Trouble?" "Oh yeah!" They just love it...
They do! That's probably why I love Rose so much, she was born to travel with the Doctor!

And come to think of it, a slave who doesn't know he's enslaved is even more enslaved, would you say so?

Not just modern society, either. I think most people in most societies have just let the elite, however that was defined at the time, decide what was right and wrong and normal and dangerous... it seems to be how human society works. We can say "question everything" all we like, but the people who'll listen are the ones who were already inclined to... and people who don't like stories that make them question things are probably not watching Doctor Who anyway.

It's a bit depressing, really.

Simon Pegg. I've never seen Spaced - but like CE (watched To Be A Somebody a few weeks ago - guh!) he's definitely underestimated as an actor...

You should definitely keep the Master/Verity Newman/Spaced crossover plot bunny ;-) From what wikipedia tells me that would be hilarious! Especially if you throw in a few Daleks.

And come to think of it, a slave who doesn't know he's enslaved is even more enslaved, would you say so?
Never thought of that before - but yes, you're right. If you are aware of your situation you can do something about it (try at least), but why would you want to change something if you don't know about it?

Yeah, people think of Pegg as just a comedy actor, but he's really, honestly scary as the Editor. And good comedy is actually really hard to do.

Like I need another plotbunny, they're piling up like tribbles as it is. XD I know it's not gonna stop bugging me now till I try to write it, though.
