Aliens Of London/World War Three, original recaps and thoughts
Hello all! I have been watching this community for a while and am now delurking because I feel the need for some serious DW fangurgling during the hiatus.

I have to say I'm in the 'fart jokes are not funny' camp on this. I still enjoy these episodes very much, but that has more to do with the great Doctor/Rose interactions, and Harriet Jones, MP for Flydale North, who is awesome. As far as the Slitheen are concerned, though, I am more in favour of the approach in 'Boom Town'. There's no fart jokes in that, and Margaret is a lot scarier in it.
Poor Jackie. At the time I wasn't that interested in her and found her rather annoying, but she really is one of the most tragic characters in New Who, when you think about it. That bit at the end where she counts down until Rose said she'd be back, breaks my heart now. :(
