Apologies for being so late with the post today! Both mods were out most of the day, but it's before midnight in my timezone, so it still counts as being on time imo!
I think Mickey/Rose has been over for a while in all real levels -- I mean in Father's Day Rose says she's single and in TEC the psychic paper says she's available or whatever ughhhhhhhh so I think Mickey/Rose has had its day by this point. Plus Mickey's dating someone else.
WHICH I guess is why I find them both super frustrating in this episode, but especially Mickey. Rose calls Mickey because she wants to see him, but she's obviously more or less let go emotionally even if there's part of her that... I dunno, wants to want Mickey, or maybe just likes having him around. I like Mickey as a character and I think his development is pretty well done, but somehow in fandom he has this reputation for being this sweet unassuming victim and perfect boyfriend etc. So anyway I find Mickey's lack of perspective in this episode frustrating -- he and Rose are doing the ~talk about their feelings~ thing and then what ends it and effectively their relationship for good is that Rose runs off when stuff starts getting real and Mickey then refuses to talk to her later. But like, Mickey, CARDIFF IS EXPLODING. YOUR FEELINGS CAN WAIT TEN MINUTES omg. But it was for the best I guess since Mickey/Rose needed to end.
lol, I guess that's all I really have to say on this episode. It's sort of meh.
