- Probably the most notable thing about this episode is the fact that it's our introduction to Jack Harkness. What was your first impression of Jack here, and did your impression change? What did you think of his progression?
- The other focus in The Doctor Dances is the Doctor and Rose's relationship. What did you think of the way it developed here? The "dancing" scene? What do you think it suggests about the way the Doctor and Rose view each other and their relationship?
- As to the overall plot -- this is the first of many times that New Who uses WWII as a backdrop. How did you think that was handled in this episode? Did you find the "empty child" frightening? If so, does knowing its origins on rewatch chance anything? What did you think of Nancy? What about the revelation about Nancy's relationship with Jamie? The "everybody lives!" ending?
- The episode ends with Jack coming along for the ride for the rest of s1. Were you excited to see his dynamic with the Doctor and Rose, or wary? How do you feel about it now? Do you like Jack's relationship with Rose, and the Doctor? What do you think Jack brings to Team TARDIS?
