I've been able to do it to mine - there should be a visible pencil button on your comments. At least, the ones that don't have a response.

Nah. I'd just blame the initial typos on being drunk.

As far as I can tell, the whole "edit comment" thing is just a slightly hidden version of deleting the comment and posting it again. The main advantage is that they do the copy and paste for you...
