There's a lot of work to be done up here, you know.

[But ten days in the wind and rain can't be good for electronics... She didn't put this thought to writing, knowing she wasn't going to pull authority on him... nor was he going to relent. That's just how he was most of the time. Instead, she packed a few things into her bag and headed for the elevator.

...Within thirty minutes, she walked through the wind and rain, scanning the skies. The damage was... awful. Weeks of repairs and clean-up were needed, but for right now, it was time to check for safe conditions to head back 'home'; maybe find that stubborn Hunter in the meantime.]

[And he was by a home in Section 3, trying- nearly in vain- to piece some spare fragments of broken wood over a window, having long since run out of proper materials save for a hammer and nails. His hair was soaked right up against his clothes, but there was no real damage to be seen.

Really, he had to pry himself away from watching the homes of those few people who'd stayed behind during evacuations. He couldn't just let harm come to them through his own inaction... or at least he certainly didn't want to. But this had to be done sooner or later, and in the wind and rain there was little else he could do.

He hoped that light was enjoying that big forest down there, at least.]

[He was right. Things were starting to slow down, and her simulations were confirming that the hurricane was finally dying out. She saved her results alongside the rest of the data, information that would be sorted further later.

Her hand lowered from her left aural unit when she turned down a street and stopped. Her heart clenched at the sight of an absolutely sodden-looking Zero. That window would be just fine with the way the wind was blowing... could it be that he...?

Locket approached, but stopped some distance away, spacing her stance to keep her footing in the wind.]

Your well-being is important, too. The storm's dying... please, take a breather.

[It took him by surprise; he almost showed it. Almost. He looked over his shoulder past the rushing wind and pelting of rain, shoving a damp curtain of hair out from obstructing his vision... Locket had come up to him? Man, couldn't she have just called him?

Eventually, he just set his hammer aside on the windowsill. That was sturdy enough to protect the glass from debris, anyway. He made sure to skirt her request as best he could.]

You didn't have to come up here, you know. It isn't safe.

[She sighed and pointed skyward.]

U-Um, yes, I had a feeling you'd say that. I'd actually come up to do a few weather readings...

[And she lost her nerve. She pulled the strap of her bag off her shoulder and nodded to one of the unoccupied houses. There would be fine, if he didn't want to go to the Wilderness. She gathered her marbles once more, looking back at him.]

I'm sure the Oak won't fall apart if you stay somewhere dry for about an hour.

Alright, alright.

[Man, he wasn't used to being worried about quite so much, was he? Zero gathered up his tools, trudging across the damp, saturated earth and across to the empty house. Once inside, he glared to a spot on the wall broken by a piece of timber- he swore he fixed that one- but otherwise just stood leaning against the wall. Of course, he waited for Locket to follow... he knew she would.]

Not like I'm going to fall apart, either.

[Well, might as well make conversation.]

How's the wilderness? Hope you're enjoying yourself down there. You need the break more than I do.

You're made of better stuff than to fall apart to the wind and rain, but saturation can cause weight problems, overwor--

[She quieted after stepping inside. Eyes seemed to glaze over at work whenever she spoke, so why get technical now? Instead, she answered his question as she set her bag on the ground and flipped it open. Was that plastic...? Her motive was revealed when she pulled the plastic bag apart to reveal warm, dry towels. She must've been using the plastic to waterproof them.]

...Off the record? Rather dull. It seems to be Light's mission to mark every tree down there, and there is the occasional squabble over food rations and shared living space. The wait is starting to get to everyone, so I'm glad it'll be over soon.

[She stood and walked over. The first of the towels she brought was presented to him... by being draped over his head. She stepped back and took a moment to wring out her own hair in relative silence.]

I'm sorry.

[The talk about 'falling apart' and 'weight problems' fell on deaf ears. What was wrong with pushing himself a little further now and then? Someone had to do all of this. And anyone else would have suffered far worse than he.]

[But the towel brought him out of his brooding. He wrung out his hair- waterlogged enough to leave a little puddle on the ground- and got to toweling himself off.]

Don't worry about it. ...Thanks for the towels. Really.

[Over his shoulders it went once again. He looked back over to Locket.]

Save a few for yourself.

You're welcome.

[She only shook her head at the offer to save some towels for herself, smiling cordially.]

They're all yours.

[She finished wringing her hair, a bloom of pink forming over her temple, looking anywhere but his way. Locket had to be such a girl, mind lingering for just a moment on how those clothes of his clung to him after all the rain...]

When all of this is over, and everything's fixed... I'd like your help with something.
