Something's up with the ants here. Fortunately, this time it's good news: It looks like they're on their way out ( Read more... )

Hmmm how to get him to keep it on long enough for her to see. moe_rapier May 21 2010, 03:55:33 UTC
That's great news! I'll be up shortly so you have another pair of eyes.

In their rush to head out, I'd stay on the high ground and out of their way, turtle inner tube and all.

It squeaks?

Let's stay focused on the ants, Locket. I'll think about the tube when I return to the wilderness.

I'd like your help in this, though. I'm in Section 2 right now. Where should I meet you?

...S-sorry.

The elevator platform, if possible. I can push my way through any ants trying to get in no problem.

I don't think they'd try to get in the elevator. But sure, I'll meet you there.

[Maverick tucks his journal under an arm alongside the humiliating inner tube and dashes off- literally- to the elevator platform.]

[She had dressed out of that Blitzball uniform and took the elevator post-haste. A few minutes would pass before the elevator gave a ding that registered to Maverick's auditory sensors, and she strode out of the doors, hand all ready on the pommel of that rapier, ready for any ant that tried to push through.

When the hunter was correct and none came, she relaxed, and waited for the doors to close behind her.]

Good evening. Let's keep an eye on some bugs, shall we?

[Must not mess with inner tube must not mess with inner tube...]

[Ah, there she is. He nods, the conspicuous turtletube still tucked beneath an arm.]

Most of them have left the residential areas already. I'm sure that they're leaving, but it's just a matter of making sure they're all gone.

[He glances out over the branches.] It might take a while to search through, though.

[She nodded. As big as the ants were, the tree was far larger. It would take some considerable time to check for every last one in their departure.

...Squeak. She couldn't resist.]

I'll take a look around the Marketplace and sweep up, see what I can salvage.

[Odd. She seemed more attentive to the float than to him.]

Keep your eyes on the ants, Locket, not the turtles.

[Busted. She straightened up, but turned her gaze away with a slight bloom of pink to the temple.]

My apologies. Let's see here...

[She brought up Edensphere's map in her mind's eye.]

Let's have you check out and secure Wellspring, Fisher Island, and the Bazaar. I'll take the larger Captain Planet and Stuff Inc. We'll meet on Melee Island and sweep inward to check Crystala. I'd rather that neither of us check the latter two alone.

Then we secure the housing sections. I think that's the quickest and cleanest way to confirm before one of us gives the clear.

[He nods, but couldn't help but grin- just a bit, just for a moment- at her response.]

Right. Your sensors are better than mine, anyway. Just don't be too proud to call for backup if you need it.

Though I don't pity the ant that walks through Crystala.

[Professionalprofessionalprofessional, there. She breathed deep, and the pink was gone.]

I agree. I used to train there on weekends...

[...Until my friends disappeared. Can't say that. She nodded, and took a step to proceed with the task. ...She paused, however, to firmly poke the head of the turtle inner tube once more. It squeaked.]

If you don't take that home as a souvenir when all is said and done, I will.

[Was that a wink and a smile in his direction? With that, she was off.]
