This is kind of a long shot, because I don't use LJ anymore, but if any of you guys are on Dreamwidth, I'd love to be friends. I feel isolated and sadz0rs in Temeraire fandom a lot of the time, and it'd be nice not to have to paint myself into some kind of James Dean-esque outsider role. ^_-
I agree so hard with the sad lack of ladies to slash, especially because, like you said, Jane/Harcourt just doesn't do it for me. Which is really depressing, since I love the femslash.
And yay for DC! I admit, I'm mainly focused on Batman & Co., but I love the entirety of that universe, too.
So, uh, the second post on your DW is about the Eighth Doctor.
The Eighth Doctor is my only Doctor. I don't really like Doctor Who despite trying several episodes, because I'm some kind of heretic, but we love Paul McGann in this house, so.
We are already friends, you and I. We just had no fucking clue. /o/
(Also yes, with the slashing--though I am really heartened by chapter 3 of ToS, because I can see slashing possibility in it I might be desperate--and with the Batfamily! My favourite is Baaaaaaaaabs. I also really like Jaime Reyes and Wonder Woman and Black Canary and Green Arrow and the DCU is where my femslasher self kind of fails, because I find a lot of the het possibilities in it too compelling to be as immediately interested in the femslash possibilities. I'm a total n00b to the whole thing, and have mostly watched Batman: Brave & the Bold, and various episodes of the other cartoons, and have been trying to make myself read comics proper, but I haven't found a good place to buy them uuuuuuuused yet. /tl;dr ^^;;)
YES a follow Eighth Doctor fan! I'll admit it, I love the show, but I mostly watch it for the companions, not the Doctor, which is also a somewhat heretical opinion, but agh, I love Eight too much to say that now.
The lovely thing about the DCU is that really all the shipping possibilities are fascinating, and almost all are conceivable, too. I love Babs, especially as Oracle, but I am boring and traditional and go completely for Harley and Ivy, slashed or not.
