I'm finally coming down from the high of Saturday. The game went off without a hitch...it's such a great feeling to see something like that come together and know that it happened cuz of your own hard work and commitment. And thanks to Ariel and Derin who helped keep me sane through some INSANE periods leading up to the game. Besides those two, Dave, and Mandy also helped advertise the game. And thank you so much to everyone who made it out to SPAC on Saturday. I hope you had a great time!
The game has gotten a ton of pub on the Web. First, here's a link to Jerry's
gallery of pictures from SPAC.
Next, we made the front of the women's basketball section on a major
college sports Web site. This was entirely unexpected, and came about cuz of a press release that NU's athletic department sent out.
Northwestern's web page also has info and pics from the game. NUSports.com has it leading it's
men's and
women's basketball pages! Holy crap! So that's a lot of web time. Super fantastically exciting shit.
Finally, the best news from the game was what happened the day after. Derin and I were at Joy Yees having a good ol' time, when up prances this little 7 or 8 year old boy. Suddenly, he says: "You were great yesterday!" That's exactly what the game was about. This little boy saw me as an athlete and told me i played great. He didn't see me as someone who uses a wheelchair. Hopefully, that's what everyone could take away from it...
