Dweediecat Update VIII
He has been a full week on prednisolone and is doing BETTER. By that I mean his skin is not as sensitive, he is not so frantic and he is acting a little more like his old self. He is using the cat box MOST of the time... His last accident occurred exactly as depicted in the icon!
I found an online support group for those tending to hyperthyroid felines and it has been a big help to me. We are thinking that it may be the medication - that perhaps the vet started him on too large a dose, so we are stopping for a few days and introducing the drug back slowly to see if his symptoms improve even more (he still licks and bites). And I have also been corresponding with an veterinarian endocrinologist that has an online blog. A very generous man. Little by little we are getting answers and moving ahead...
