last night i played beirut with some of my family members including:
my mom!?
my 30 year old doctor cousin!?
my 2.5 year old 2nd cousin!? (she kobe'd her first shot ever!)
2 cousins close to my age.
and 2 (specifically 1) pretty awesome girls we met earlier in the week.
spectators included various other cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandpas. ha!
i'm getting bummed that the vacation is coming to a conclusion. this has been, without a doubt, the most fun i've ever had with family. perhaps it's been a unifying experience losing a family member recently (maybe), having a grandpa who says stuff to my cousin (who is quite the player) like "jeff, it's not 'pimpin aint easy' it's 'limpin' aint easy.'" (a good chance), or a mutual adoration for booze (definitely), regardless, this trip has given me a new found appreciation for my relatives. the week was spent relaxing on the beach or by the pool, visiting historical monuments/light houses, watching totoro with my little cousin emma, staying up until sunrise having ridiculous conversations with people i just met, and attempting to get a tan (proving to be way more challenging than originally thought). so much has happened over the past week making me unable to comprehend what will occur during the next 6-7 weeks while on the road. (titular line?) i'll be sure to keep y'all updated, for those interested. next stop: the smokey mountains! dang oh man i'm stoked!
