I'm trying to compile a collection of mythological animals/creatures that are specifically associated with areas of death or the dead (cemeteries, burial grounds, battle fields etc.) or are associated with the dead themselves (carrion eaters, corpse possessors and what not)
native American is preferred, but any will work.

I've been trying to work on this story for a while and I simply don't have enough material to work with
