Blessed Imbolc!

Feb 01, 2011 16:48

I've been on hiatus for a bit, between school and work and moving house. The end of the solar year is often a time for going in and reflecting for me, anyway, and this year the Universe made sure that I was going to focus on myself and my life for the time between the Fall Equinox and Imbolc. But today's Imbolc, and it's time to start turning outward again.
Imbolc, variously known as Brighid, Oilmec, Imbolg, or Candlemas, marks the beginning of the return of spring. (Hard to believe when so much of the US is covered in snow right now.) Sacred to the Goddess Brighid, patron of poetry, healing, and smithcraft, it is also a time to set goals and decide what we are going to birth and nurture in the coming year. I often set creative or scholarly goals, but the sky is the limit. Setting of goals in the February cold is lighting the proverbial candle in the darkness, as we move toward spring.
As you might guess, Imbolc is also an ideal time to do divination and get a read on what your coming year might hold. In that spirit, I offer the Open Readings Thread for Imbolc. If you'd like to know what is birthing into your life, or what you should focus your efforts on this coming year, comment below and I'll pull a card for you.

As always, the tip jar is out, and tips are appreciated but never required.
