Goghing for it III: THE SHOES-AH!
(Just rewatched the first two episodes of The IT Crowd. Does it show?)
Out on my excursions today I found a pair some socks and shoes for Van Gogh that are Good Enough™. And here they are:
The socks are nothing like Van Gogh's socks, and I expect trying to match the socks is perhaps a bridge too far, but they're a decent colour and they compliment the shoes. The shoes, too, aren't quite right, but they're brown and they lace up. That's all I really want.
Tomorrow we venture into Chinatown in search of a hat. I also have to somehow sort out the vest and jacket. ssshunt found a pretty good coat which is Close Enough™, and she also found a supoib white base shirt. At the very least if I can't find the other items I can go in my trousers, socks, this shirt, and keep the suspenders loose. Then I can have emotional breakdowns in the middle of the hotel, and everyone will just know who I am.
So that's nice.
Tomorrow is the last possible day I have to pull the rest of this costume tomorrow, so do wish me luck.
Edit: And I might need to get new trousers too - I just tried on the ones I bought the other day and they still don't fit.
