The Doctor's Uncommon (Non-Canon) FOB Watchchain
When I started Cosplaying Four, I noted that without the Argyle Cardigan Vest ( Something that most other 4 Cosplayers have made specially at a steep price,) that there was no way around it. I started trying to take the eyes off of the vest area, or at least to draw them to something else. So at first, I added a chain, the the vest I was using. This was a simple chain that gave the illusion i had a FOB Watch (which I plan on buying soon) and drew the eye to the situation. Here's one of the first examples:
This of course, isn't a clear picture. Here's a more clear picture. With the New Vest, however, I didn't have pockets so, i had to pin the thing on, which also created the illusion of pockets:
Like all Cosplay accessories this served me for a while. The problem I had with it, was that it was not distinctly elegant.
The necklace belonged to my girlfriend too, and it did have the strange sort of Antique key on it, which I liked as a concept. I also liked the urban practicality of it, which reminded me something of Steam punk in the "latch locks."
So, after a while of this, I learned I could arrange it in a more victorian patttern.
The problem was, that this piece of Jewelry wasn't mine and my signifcant other had specific emotional connections to it.
She didn't like when I used it, and she took it and hid it.
She was right of course. So at this point, after i learned that she herself had made it, I decided to make my own, and so I went to Michaels, and started to learn about "jewelry making," and I found some interesting pieces,
which I incorporated into a "DOCTORISH" FOB chain.
I also went to home Depot, and learned that brass looking chain can be had for about 60 cents.
At first, i used the chain, but then i decided that linked circles felt more correct, and so i abandoned the home depot links.
Now the cool thing about this, is that i could find more elegant pieces at any Michaels and with that i decided to play around with colors.
So here is what I designed, that most will notice isn't cannon in anyway, but when i went looking at Watch Chains, I didn't find anything I liked, and i also liked the sort of charm bracelet style to it, which i could hang other keys, or things on it, that could be propworthy and unique.
So here is what I came up with:
As you can see, I added some aspects. I kept the Keychainlinks, adding some ringlets in the middle and the ends. I also found a neat looking (Fake) Roman Coin:
This i considered to be the essence of the Doctor's Hobo collector quality. I also found a nice little portrait glass which I opened and placed a picture of Susan in.
As you can see, I don't have the Watch yet, but i am looking for something particulrly unique, which I could see the Doctor wearing.

So, like I said, "It's not canon, but I think it has a Doctorish Feel that helps with the cosplay?"
