Hey everyone!

Would anyone know where I can get a Fourth Doctor hat kinda quick? I haven't been able to find one that I like and DragonCon is fast approaching.

Thanks for the help!!

Which hat are you looking for? The wide brimmed/tall brown hat (Season 12-13), the unfinished fur in bottle green? The burgandy from Season 18? What's your budget?

Wide brimmed/tall brown. Budget is under $50.

If costume-quality works for you, the Indiana Jones hat will do in a pinch. Check Halloween shops and other costume sources.

A decent hat under $50 doesn't exist, unless you find it in a thrift store by chance. The Indy hat from Disney is the best you'll find with that budget probably, especially if you need it fast.

Depending on how adventurous you are, you can get a brown "hat blank" for $19.95 at Blockade Runner Civil War Sutler, on their hats page: http://www.blockaderunner.com/Catalog/catpg16.htm. Scroll down a little over half way to the "Wool Slouch Hat Blank". You can order the hat and shape it however you want (it comes with instructions because it's a blank hat with wide brim and fairly tall crown, but no real shape ( ... )

Pretty much what the above posters have said- for $50- check thrift stores and ebay for hats- you may get lucky. Check for Herbert Johnson hats as they were the ones who made the original. Failing that, try what Galacticprobe suggested for the cheapest option or if you have no desire to try and shape a hat/add a ribbon and want it ready-made then look around for safari/adventurer/Indiana Jones hats on the cheap end of the scale through online places like www.villagehatshop.com etc. A good google search will turn up plenty of options here and you should find something in or close to your budget. Finding a cheap ready made hat that has the tall crown and wide brim... pretty much doesn't exist though- you'll need to just go with 'as-close-as-you-can' for your $$ and timeframe. It's just not a mainstream popular style. Luckily the Indy hat is widely available and it's a close cousin to the Baker hat.
