Harry Sullivan costume

Jan 09, 2009 11:00

So, after finding a really good deal on eBay on a jacket that is a pretty close match for Harry's, I decided that a costume was in order. I think it turned out reasonably well, especially for a costume where I purchased all of the pieces instead of making any. And I've got a couple of pictures.

Fabulous work!

All it needs is a naval cap of some description...

Thanks! You know, it does seem like that, doesn't it? I might look into it and see if I can find something that would actually look appropriate.

Thanks! To be honest, I saw a number of men's jackets in the same style when I was checking out eBay, so you might very well be able to find something there.

Were these all ebay finds? Nicely put together. I'd love to grab see more Harry cosplayers out there. Yeah it just needs the cap or a nice curly wig with some fake chops to complete the look.

Thanks. Actually, the jacket was the only thing I got on eBay. The shirt and pants were things I found at Goodwill. I think you might be right about the hat/hair. I've got too much hair to really do anything with it that'd look right and probably too much to really wear a wig, so I'll probably look into a hat or something. :)

With your hair tucked back you could probably make a wig work. His hair and chops are an important part of his look and silouetter IMHO. But go with whatever works best. I realize it's a tricky area doing a men's wig/chops.

Yeah, it's tricky, but they really do complete the look. I'm definitely gonna look into it.

Cool! And nice to see a character I wouldn't have thought of straight off the bat!

Thanks! Yeah, I love it when people do costumes of the less often thought of characters, too. :)
