Two breakdown.

Having been introduced to the series when I was but a tiny tot watching them in black and white on PBS, I guess I've always known about Doctor Who. Wasn't much of a fan until the new series came out, where all the hints about the history of the Doctor made me determined to see all the other episodes.
And I found one of my favourite Doctors, Two. NOT QUITE DONE YET. )

trousers, reference, tutorial, sonic screwdriver, companion: zoe heriot, companion: jamie mccrimmon, coat, pocket props, companion: victoria, doctor: two, shirt/blouse, props, retail, tardis key, shoes/boots, watch/pocketwatch, accessories, breakdown, jacket, frock coat, belts/braces/suspenders, hat, tie, pic spam, alternative find, fabrics, hair styling

I just found out that technically the collar on Troughton's shirt is technically called a 'spread collar' shirt. These are usually sold more in European shops - it's more of a French-English thing. You can buy them here in the USA through specialty stores but they tend to be expensive. Also modern spread collars are still a bit on the short side for a Two costume.

The alternative is to make one like you did or look for vintage 70's shirts like you say which had wider collars and try and work out some of the stiffness to get the floppy look.

Also did Troughton often wear a ring or only in his early stories? Also is his coat a single button in the front or two? The pics make it look like one but his action figure coming out shows two if not three.

I finally managed to score a cutaway frock in my size for a Two costume. I'd have preferred it to be a bit baggier but hey at least it fits- finding a cutaway frock in a 42" (let alone a 44") at a good price is really hard.
A good ebay search tip for looking for these- instead of searching for frock coats or cutaway coats- search of 'tails' coats - and it usually turns up a few hits especially for international sellers!
