Having been introduced to the series when I was but a tiny tot watching them in black and white on PBS, I guess I've always known about Doctor Who. Wasn't much of a fan until the new series came out, where all the hints about the history of the Doctor made me determined to see all the other episodes.
(
And I found one of my favourite Doctors, Two. NOT QUITE DONE YET. )
The only points I'd add is that the morning frock he wears is also sometimes called a 'cutaway' frock. If you're under a 40" chest I've seen several at Junk For Joy in burbank for less than $100. http://www.junkforjoy.com/
You can also buy cutaway morning frocks for those with more modern measurements here:

Brooks Brothers in Downtown LA would be a good source for houndstooth check material for the pants. http://brooksbrothers.com/
I also recommend this gentelman again for those without sewing skills who are looking to have the high-waist style pants made once they find thier chosen fabric:

I've also come across red suspenders in various thrift stores (new) so they are out there but not with the white leather button straps- that might require some modifying.
THANK YOU again for posting this!

One day I'm TOTALLY going to LA. Possibly just for these shops, they sound amazing.
I think the difference between the availability of red suspenders might have something to do with countries... Doesn't Uncle Sam have red suspenders or something?
I shall edit the post to add in these links tomorrow.
