Cosplaying Sarah Jane Smith?
I'm thinking of cosplaying Sarah Jane Smith but as I've never cosplayed before, I'm not entirely sure how to go about it. I was thinking either her "present day" outfit from her first appearance in The Time Warrior (pics here) or her more iconic outfit of waistcoat and jeans from The Sarah Jane Adventures (pics here).
The only problems I guess I have to deal with are that a)I wear glasses at all times (I can't see a foot in front of me without them) and don't have contacts and b)while my hair is similar to Sarah Jane's in terms of length, I don't have bangs and it is a bit darker so I don't know if it's worth it buying a wig or just saying that it's close enough.
Like I said, I'm a complete newbie at this so I hope it's okay to ask such a basic/general question XD
Any and all tips would be greatly appreciated!
EDIT: I think I'm going to go with an SJA outfit first since it'll hopefully be easier to find pieces that match and it should be fun posing with a sonic lipstick - even if I have to use a real lipstick in the beginning :)
My favorite is her outfit from The Vault of Secrets (pics) and I think I've managed to identify her waistcoat/vest on ebay but unfortunately it's not in my size. Does anyone know of online stores that might carry that brand (Zoe) and ship to the US or have one for sale? I'm a US 2XL so either a UK 22 or 24.
For her shirt and jeans I think I'll be able to find something to close to them, but I'm unsure of where/how to start looking for her jacket and boots. If anyone has any ideas for keywords or possible brands to search I'd really appreciate it. Thank you! :D
