Hey Gang,
So onward to Day 5 - Sunday. The Final Hours of Comic Con 2012. For the final time, we awoke to do the roommate Merry Go Round again. As usual our roommates left before us too get down early in order to hit a panel or try and get some coverage. Since this was the 2nd big Dr. Who meetup day I planned to rock out in my standard 4th Doctor outfit. Teri was supposed to wear the newly put together Sarah Jane she'd worn on Thu but decided she wanted to spend some time as mary Marvel and chose that costume instead.
I'd actually had trouble getting Jelly babies (locally anyway I guess there's some ban on one of the ingredients so importing them to the US has been tough) and didn't have time to order any online so I had to go sweetless this time. I was in such a rush packing I'd even forgotten my Sonic! Luckily Ewan had a classic spare from the Russ Rep Run and handed it to me at the Thursday Meet up so I was locked and loaded.

Waiting for Scott and Vickie in front of our hotel
So we got ready and headed downstairs to wait for Scott and Vickie. Malaki texted me that Christine got her autograph ticket and she only had one thing to be signed so she agreed to bring my 500 Year Diary up to get signed for me which was very cool of her. We drove down to the con center with Vickie already wearing her cat face which drew some odd looks from other drivers!
Vickie set to go as Novice Hame
Lone Ranger masks up
Teri Practicing her poses
Once in the garage we got the same spot yet again. Scott suited up, Vickie got in her Nun costume and off we went to our final day of SDCC. At the Door the Security guy was really complimentary about all of our costumes which.... was kind of a first for the Security people at the door really!!!
Original 1948 Superman Serial Poster- only $3000!
The Lone Ranger and Vigilante!
I spent the first hour on the floor getting last minute shopping done for a friend of mine. This included getting some comic book posters, some Adventure Time Backpacks, a couple comic book T-shirts and some of the free Judge Dredd badge giveaways at Lionsgate.
Mary and Novice wait while I buy some posters
With a 40's Clark Kent and Lois Lane!
I made a point to get a pic of the sweet original Superman Serial poster at the heritage Auction booth- only 3 Grand! LOL. Right nearby we ran into a 40's themed Clark Kent and Lois Lane which was awesome. Made me really wish I'd worn my Kirk Alyn Superman this year!
A very Different C-3PO and R2-D2
Galactus!
We passed by some other cool costumes like an amazing galactus (who I guess was a Masque entry) and an interesting C-3PO and R2-D2 varient. From here Scott went off on his own for a bit while Teri, Vickie and I made for the Sunday Dr. Who meet up at 2PM post Panel.
FYi I heard the Panel was a lot of fun- we made a choice to skip it as we knew we'd never make it down in time to get in but if you want to check it out please see it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEjnUAsZJ-Q&feature=related Anyway we made it to the Sails pavilion where I had a rushed few minutes to hand my Diary off to Christina who wa sin line for autographs. She was upset they would let her wear her Apipose costume for the stars but then again with such a cumbersome costume it might have been for the best. So Malaki join us where the group of everyone was meeting right as Security had asked us to move and we all swept out to the balcony area where we only seemed to grow numbers and take a LOAD of various pictures which you can see below.
Sunday Dr. Who Meet Up
Of course once together we had to do a grouping of Just the Doctors- as usual very new Series heavy.
Doctors!
Fours!
With Sarah Jane
Four and Five and the odd Two and Seven were the main classic Doctors representing the old school.
Villains
Photographers
Daleks
Rivers
Then there were some fun groupings of Daleks, Rivers, Villains etc etc.
Eleven Era Companions
Rivers and Elevens
Once you got to the Eleven and Tens with Roses it got kinda crazy with hugging and snogging but hey points for being in character I suppose.
Tens (and Donna)
Roses join in
Nines and Roses
Fours and Sarah jane
I had a lot of fun in the Fours grouping. It was nice to run into the girls we'd met on Wed/Thu as Four and Five again. Though I guess the girl dressed as Five finally watched Castrovalva in the intervening days and proclaimed Davison a weak and whiny Doctor. Which is a shame since Castrovalva is NOT the best ep to judge him on. I told her to give him time but she may have already written him off.
Cat People
Vickie joined us and we met a Brannigan from Gridlock which was very cool!
EVERYONE
Finally at my request we got a massive big EVERYONE group shot. i guess this had been done inside the Sails but our numbers had grown and it was good to get the fullest the group would be on camera.
Meet-Up
Again there were a lot of new faces. A lot of comments about hos we should make this yearly thing not knowing this was the 5th year we'd been doing this. but I assure you whether I attend SDCC 2013 or not I'll happily plan and post more Who meets as they are good time.
Amanda rockin out the Supernatural
Afterwards there was some crowd thinning dispersal, but not by a whole lot. A bunch of us had the idea of catching matt and the cast walking to the Autograph area in hopes of getting another Photo Op.
Amanda finally met up with me at this point with her friend and they filled me in on the Dr. Who panel while I checked out thier Supernatural costumes.
Malaki Suits up Cyberman with Vickie's help
Finally Malaki found a good spot to suit as the New Era Cyberman and join in the fun.
Four and Five
Five and Five
Fours and Fives
Cyber Attack!
Cybermen just need love
While we waited for Matt and Co., we took a lot of fun pictures of character pairs and the like.
TARDIS Dresses
Daleks in Manhatten
Waiting for Matt
Finally when the Cast were brought out we must have appeared as quite a crowd. Matt, Arthur, karen and Steven all popped out their phones and videoed us as they walked by waving. They seemed happy to see us but it was very brief.
Matt and Arthur on thier way to the signing- taking pics of us
Ten, Rose, Novice
So everyone waited hoping to have another shot at meeting matt since it seems our photo from the previous SDCC was on a lot of people's minds. I knew it was a long shot and we were more of a mob this time then a small group of Doctors... but we had a very Cool Adipose and Cyberman with us so we kept hopes up.
Cybermen Team Up!
Novice Hame Texting downtime
Bad Wolf????
Waiting out for the cast
Suiting up Christina in the Adipose
Christina came out about half an hour later and gave me my Dairy- all duly signed by the cast which was very cool. She turned and began to suit up in her Adipose Costume to take pics while we waited. (how I endured that heat in the scarf, I'm still not sure. I blame my mini fan!)
Reflective Dalek
Monster Fight- Doomsday Part Deux
Then a neat fan made reflective silver Dalek came out and joine dus which brought a lot of great reaction from the fans. The Cardboard Cyberman also came out to get pics with malaki's version.
Left in the Cold by Smith and co.
Monsters!
Finally as the end of the hour approached we noticed security was massing up to the doors and our area. They were always polite but they kept reminding us to stay behind the ropes and not approach the door. We spotted some security pull aside some BBC people, point at us whisper and walk away. Finally we saw Matt and karen going for the door but then be ushered aside by security and they were directed to walk back inside the glass instead of outside. It was a bummer, and they gave us all a disappointed wave as they walked by behind the window and then they were gone. I guess SDCC Security did not want to even chance a repeat of the mistake that allowed us through last year. Major bummer but oh well. Back to the con floor and the Air conditioning!
Galactus again!

Scott and Vickie parted ways at this point where Novice Hame met a LOT of fans including members of the Star wars cosplay crowd. And even if people didn't get the character they loved the look and her make-up which was awesome.
The Doctor with his own merchandise at the Entertainment Earth/Biff Bang Pow booth
I Stopped by the Entertainment booth to pose by the retro classic Who doll toys and Tardis playset which looked great. I plan to pick some up soon!
Triple breasted girl from Total Recall
The Living Daylights Aston Martin Volante!
My Con was kinda made again at the Bond50 booth where they were now displaying the Aston martin V8/Volante from the Living Daylights- only one of my fav cars from one of my Fav Bond Movies. I was thrilled to see it and get a picture with it!
Doctor. The Doctor.
Four and Eleven
While waiting to go on stage with the Bond Car I ran into Ewan as Eleven and we caught up biefly and made plans to do dinner that night.

I finished the very last of my Sunday Shopping, picked up our stuff at Dan's Booth (and he was pretty zoned and wiped out by now- I think we all were!). Right as I picke dup this stuff and we said our gooodbyes they announced the floor was closed and SDCC was over. Relieve dbut sad!

Picard Meets the Doctor!
Picard and Mary
Mary Marvel meets Mary Marvel
On the way out we met a very cool Captain Picard who was happy to meet a Doctor and Mary marvel! We also ran into another Mary Marvel (friends with the Superman and Captain marvel Jr.!) and got a duo shot on the fly.

The Empty Halls After all the Fanboys and fan girls leave
So we coordinated with Vickie and Scott via text. We Got to the car and kinda melted out of costume while they drove us home. We de-suited and took our time. We had the room for the night but our roomates had already left back to LA and paid thier shares. Ewan sadly couldn't make it to dinner after all but malaki and Christina could so we all planned to meet at Buca Di Beppo where we finally got our annual ravioli, and green beans. We ate, swapped stories, talked over the highs and lows and hhad a nice way to wrap up the weekend.
When we got back to the room, with far less people now there, Teri and I finally spent an hour in the jacuzzi and boy did that do wonders for my feet and back. Actually my left foot had been bothering me more and more throughout the weekend and this really helped put it right. We ended up sharing it with two girls who had gone to con and talked up all the panels they liked to see. Along with an older couple who had only vaguely heard of comic con and wanted to be filled in about it. Made for a very interesting conversation!
Finally Teri and I went upstairs, showered and crashed.
The next morning we packed up and loaded up the car on our own- a fairly painless process that we manage din about an hour or so. We drove and met up with Scott and Vickie for a lunch at Fuddrucker's in the nearby mall where a good burger and shake went down a treat.
Exhausted at Fuyddrucker's Monday Morning

SDCC Poster reprints I picked up courtesy of Scott and Vickie
So after lunch, we made our goodbyes. Teri and I stopped on the way back for post lunch frozen Yogurt with Ramie where we swapped con stories and geeked out over the Avengers and Dr. Who. Finally at long last we made the drive home to L.A. Another Con down! It was crazy, crowded and busy as ever and it was a blast.

Another year Down. Wake me when we get to 2013.
Thanks for reading. 'Til the Anniversary 2013! (Hopefully).
