Rose Tyler Breakdown 2.0 - Series 2 Part 1
Season/Series 2
Rose items are in very high demand and very very rare. They have been out of print for many years and were rare when purchased for the episode. Prices tend to skyrocket and it can take months to years to find items. Be patient, prepared to spend a lot, in some cases never find it and please do not ask cosplayers to sell their items unless they offer. I will provide reference photos upon request, often do screenprint runs and provide DIY guides. All prices are based on September of 2013. As more time goes by the price will go up. If you are reading this at a later date you may want to keep this in mind, as items will be even more rare. If prices are not listed it is so rare that there is no average price.

If you decide to make your own and would like reference photos, please feel free to message me and ask for more detailed photos. Forever 21 is always a great place to look as well. They have come out with many items that look very close to Rose's clothing.
Rose's Hair
Dying your hair:
Ash blonde base with 4 different interwoven colors of highlights ranging from a light gold to a very dark gold. Her hair is not yellow or bright blonde, don't be fooled by bad TV lighting!
Professional colors used for Screen Accurate Rose hair
If you plan on dying your hair you need to pay a professional and tell them to interweave! Use a violet shampoo to reduce the brassy (yellow) tones.
Joico Color Endure Violet Shampoo is the best for reducing yellow/brassy tones. Stay away from over bleaching and don't use the "lemon juice" method as the acids in the lemon will eat at your hair and damage it. The consensus is that 3 weeks of root growth is a good Rose root length.
Buying a wig:
Wig tips
*No yellow wigs!
*No shiny wigs!
*Add in the roots!
*Avoid pale blonde wigs
*Try to match your skin tone
*You don't have to spend a lot!
*Get creative, find curly heat resistant ones that you can style to look more like hers or find longer ones that you can cut to the correct length.
*Don't go too short. I had a wig that was too short once and not a single person knew who I was!
Rose's hair may sometimes appear to be yellow but in reality is an ash blonde with 4 different interwoven golden blonde highlight. Don't waist your money on yellow, blonde wigs.
Roots are also super important in a wig! I used a black sharpie and spent hours on mine. Some swear by brown sharpies but Black works just fine.
It is possible to get a great wig for cheap! Mine was $25, I got it on eBay and people think its my real hair. Avoid shiny wigs!!!
Match your skin tone. Even if that means the color of your wig or hair isn't exactly like hers, it will look better and be more believable as your real hair if you try to keep your skin tone and what works well for it in mind.

Rose's New Earth shirt is one of the most in demand and rarest items. Oddtogs has started making replicas based off of a color alt for the pattern and I have color matched for her. These are by far the most accurate replicas that I have seen.

Diesel Jacket
Very easy to find and a really great winter jacket. Normally sells for $20 - $60 but its very heavy so shipping will cost a lot.
Purple Atmosphere jacket
This is very very rare. I have not seen it listed in 3 years and it went for $300

Diesel top
This is the most wanted Rose item there is. It was very very rare during filming and only comes up once in a blue moon. The most recent sale was for $1000 (not screen worn). It has been seen twice in the last 4 years. Oddtogs makes a wonderful version

The colors are very hard to match because there is purple worked into the blue and blue worked into the purple. The common mistake that I see people make is using a bright purple for the accent and very light purple as the main purple, way off! Its a blight purple with a maroon/purple/blue worked in and blue with purple worked in accent. The only light purple are the small patches on the front.
The Diesel top was made inside out with all of the seams on the outside. It is a patched together top but put together with great precision and detail. This top was made in many different colors and styles. It has been seen as the screen accurate version, also an all different shades of blue version, orange plaid and bright blue, and a version that looks almost exactly like Rose’s, only all of the colors are in shades of grey. For the episode Louise Page removed the collar as she did not care for the look of it.

Very rare but so many alts out there
The hat worn in the opening scene came from Urban Outfitters, if there is a specific brand, it is not known.

Frye Campus Boots in "Dark Brown"
Easy to find but EXPESIVE! About $300
The Frye Campus boots are an American brand boot. They are a brown slip-on boot with a very small heel.
The watch worn in this episode is a purple leather strapped watch from Marks and Spencer.

“Tooth and Claw”
Urban Renewal crown shirt
This shirt is very very rare. It sold two years ago for $300.

The Urban Renewal crown shirt is an almost fuchsia colored shirt with a purple and blue crown patch sewn on. There is a good match for the crown on Livejournal that many people use to make their own. The crown patch is not in the center of this shirt but located slightly closer to the right and is also at a slight angle tilting towards the left. One detail that is really hard to see on screen is that there is an embroidered crown angled to the right over the top of the patch.

Topshop overalls
These pop up from time to time. They are somewhat rare but don’t go for very much because there are so many alts out there. Never pay more then $50
The Topshop overalls are light blue denim overalls but there are three buttons on the large breast pocket and there are two side pockets.
Frye Campus boots.
Easy to find but EXPESIVE! About $300
The Frye Campus boots are as seen in "New Earth".

TIP:
USE PROFESSIONAL DANCE TIGHTS! Leggings are much too dark and were not popular at the time but normal tights are very light. The overalls tend to ride up and give nice butt shots. Dance tights (and booty shorts) cover your butt nicely without taking away from the outfit.
“School Reunion”
DIY GUIDE
Rose has three outfits in this episode. The first consists a workwear outfit from Alexandra, the second is a reversible Diesel jacket, a Marks and Spencer yellow vest, and her belt, jeans and shoes from "The Christmas Invasion".
Rose’s dinner lady outfit consists of a workwear dress with snap closure, a pale blue apron with white straps, a workwear hat and white clogs. All items come from Alexandra Workwear. Some of these items are still available on their site, however they do not ship to the US.

This SA is pretty rare but there are a million alts out there.
The Marks and Spencer vest is a yellow spaghetti strap vest with a V-neck front.

This is VERY rare! The good news is that its pretty easy to make your own the looks perfect.

Adidas Superstar trainers
These are rare depending on size. They were rereleased a while ago but only in men’s sizes. Smaller lady sizes are hard to find. $50 - $100
Rock and Republic “Scorpion” jeans in Addict wash
These are easy to find in different washes but can be rare in the SA wash.
Her third outfit consists of the same pants, shoes, and belt, but now she is wearing a Urban Outfitters “Pirates Arrr Cool” tee-shirt.
The “Pirates Arrr Cool” tee-shirt used to be thought of as green, but in reality is pink with black writing. The way the Tardis interior is lit by the stage lights is what makes it look green.
The screen accurate color of this shirt is almost impossible to find. I have done screenprints in the past, check here for details.

Realitee tee-shirt
One of the absolute rarest Rose items. It has only been found once and I am the one that purchased it. I often do screenprint runs. Check here for details. It appears much bluer on screen but is more of a deep teal

The Realitee shirt is a blue tee-shirt with a slightly greenish grey tint. The shirt says “Wichita Falls” across the front in orange, purple, and white letters slightly overlapping each other. Underneath is a tiger with the same colors and design. This is an American brand.
Lee Norma Jean jeans.
These are very rare but there are a million alts out there.
The Norma Jean jeans are a blue skinny jean with Xs on each side of the back pockets.

“Rise of the Cybermen”/"The Age of Steel"
Red Diesel jacket
This jacket isnt extemely rare but may take you a while. It normally goes for about $200.
Red Diesel jacket is a form fitting red jacket with two slanted side zip pockets.
"School Reunion" Marks and Spencer vest
Screen Accurate is pretty rare but there are a million alts out there.
"New Earth" Topshop trousers
These use to be easy to find but have recently become very rare. They normally go for about $50 depending on size and level of wear.
Hobbs boots.
These use to be easy to find but have become rare. They normally sell for $150 - $200 and run extremely slim.
The second outfit is her maid costume. This is made by Alexandria and is actually designed to be a service industry maid uniform and was altered to fit Billie better. This outfit is worn with an Alexandra workwear apron and Hobbs knee high boots.
From the Q&A with Louise Page:
The boots worn with the waitress outfit were Hobbs black elastic sided leather knee length boots. They were not particularly shiny and the heel was about ¾”.
Her third outfit is not entirely clear from the episode, as she is seen in it only briefly at the end. It is not possible to see what trousers or shoes she is wearing, but Louise Page has said that the jeans are either her LEE or Rock and Republic jeans. The Bonhams site lists the shirt as Pur Una Due. Pur Una Due was a line created in 2005 aimed at teens. This line has a very high turn over rate and was only purchased because it would not be recognizable and it would not be possible to go out and buy it after the episode aired. This shirt has never been found.
