Advice?

I've been trying to piece together a Romana I, "Stones of Blood" cosplay for a couple of months now and have spent a ridiculous amount of time staring at screen caps and comparing them to skirts and blouses found on various internet sites....which is, of course, the bulk of any cosplaying endeavor. XD

I've found a great deal of help right in this comm! In fact, the shirt I ended up purchasing was one suggested by another cosplayer here!

Well, now I've got a skirt and a shirt (all ready to be modified to look more like hers because, really, they don't make blouses exactly like that one anymore).....but I'm having color troubles.

Here's what I've got:

Here's what Romana's outfit looked like:

Now, I know the colors vary quite a lot in different caps from Classic Who episodes....but I'm sure you can see my problem. Somehow, I've wound up with a shirt that is almost color the skirt is meant to be and a skirt that is the color the shirt ought to be. Now, I'm a bit of a perfectionist...but I'm also willing to go with a "close enough" sort of thing, especially when trying to match something as frustrating as the colors in this outfit.

I can dye the shirt (and was planning to) somewhat more purple....I even have a spare to use for test strips....but the thing is, the skirt is still SO far off, I don't know if it will look good at all. :(

So....really...I'm looking for opinions and advice? What should I do? I don't really have the money to buy another skirt right now....and I'd hate to waste the one I have....do you think I could get away with using it?
