Rose Tyler Breakdown - The Christmas Invasion
Rose items are in very high demand and very very rare. They have been out of print for many years and were rare when purchased for the episode. Prices tend to skyrocket and it can take months to years to find items. Be patient, prepared to spend a lot, in some cases never find it and please do not ask cosplayers to sell their items unless they offer. I will provide reference photos upon request, often do screenprint runs and provide DIY guides. All prices are based on September of 2013. As more time goes by the price will go up. If you are reading this at a later date you may want to keep this in mind, as items will be even more rare. If prices are not listed it is so rare that there is no average price.

Rose's Hair
Dying your hair:
Ash blonde base with 4 different interwoven colors of highlights ranging from a light gold to a very dark gold. Her hair is not yellow or bright blonde, don't be fooled by bad TV lighting!

If you plan on dying your hair you need to pay a professional and tell them to interweave! Use a violet shampoo to reduce the brassy (yellow) tones.
Joico Color Endure Violet Shampoo is the best for reducing yellow/brassy tones. Stay away from over bleaching and don't use the "lemon juice" method as the acids in the lemon will eat at your hair and damage it. The consensus is that 3 weeks of root growth is a good Rose root length.
Buying a wig:
Wig tips
*No yellow wigs!
*No shiny wigs!
*Add in the roots!
*Avoid pale blonde wigs
*Try to match your skin tone
*You don't have to spend a lot!
*Get creative, find curly heat resistant ones that you can style to look more like hers or find longer ones that you can cut to the correct length.
*Don't go too short. I had a wig that was too short once and not a single person knew who I was!
Rose's hair may sometimes appear to be yellow but in reality is an ash blonde with 4 different interwoven golden blonde highlight. Don't waist your money on yellow, blonde wigs.
Roots are also super important in a wig! I used a black sharpie and spent hours on mine. Some swear by brown sharpies but Black works just fine.
It is possible to get a great wig for cheap! Mine was $25, I got it on eBay and people think its my real hair. Avoid shiny wigs!!!
Match your skin tone. Even if that means the color of your wig or hair isn't exactly like hers, it will look better and be more believable as your real hair if you try to keep your skin tone and what works well for it in mind.

Diesel jacket
Very easy to find and a really great winter jacket. Normally sells for $20 - $60 but its very heavy so shipping will cost a lot.
The Diesel jacket is a thick and heavy winter coat. It has a large hood that is lined with thick fur. There is a zipper located in the center of the jacket; the jacket also has a large flap that can be buttoned over the zipper. It has two front pockets as well as a pocket located on the upper left arm.
Urban Outfitters hoodie
This is medium level rare. It will pop up a few times, disappear for a long time and pop up again. It normally sells for $70 - $150

The Urban Outfitters grey hoodie is very unique. The pockets are stitched on from the outside and in a half circle shape with frayed edges. The sleeve cuffs and lower back are both ribbed. The hoodie also has ribbons sewed on. The interesting thing about this is that the ribbon was put on upside down. When you flip it over you can see the real design of the ribbon. The ribbon is sewn on the hood, lower left arm, diagonal over the left pocket, over the right shoulder, and on the upper right hand side of the back. The only issue with this is that it does fray when washed. I recommend cleaning it up with a fine pair of scissors and using fray check to seal it. If you wash it a lot you will need to maintain the fray check.

Unidentified vest
There is a weird story behind this vest. Bonhams IDed it as Miss Milne. No one has ever once found this and when I contacted Miss Milne they said it was not theirs. I spoke with multiple people there and even some who had been working there when the episode aired. This is not the first thing that Bonhams has gotten wrong.
Diesel belt
This is VERY rare! The good news is that its pretty easy to make your own the looks perfect.

The Diesel belt has a brass floral design for the belt buckle and a leaf and cross pattern on the belt. In the center it says “BAHNTC”. This same belt is used throughout all of Season 2.

Adidas Superstar trainers
These are rare depending on size. They were rereleased a while ago but only in men’s sizes. Smaller lady sizes are hard to find. $50 - $100
The Adidas Superstar trainers are a white lace-up trainer with orange laces and a blue platform.
Rock and Republic “Scorpion” jeans in Addict wash
These are easy to find in different washes but can be rare in the SA wash.
The Rock and Republic “Scorpion” jeans are a dark blue jean with a stone-washed effect around the knee and thigh. The name of the exact wash from the episode is Addict, but many other washes were used on this brand. The tag inside the jeans will indicate which wash was used. The pockets on the front are large with big silver buttons in the center and the back pockets have flaps with big silver buttons in the center.
