Let's Kill Hitler and The Girl Who Waited Amy (Plus Bonus Night Terrors)!

Jan 22, 2012 17:42

So I finished both LKH and TGWW a while back, but hadn't got around to taking pictures yet. Finally had chance today while it wasn't raining. Unfortunately I was back to the wig today 'cause my hair's currently the wrong colour, but it's made me realise I'm better off with my real hair when I'm Amy.

Oh wow! LKH looks fantastic on you and don't worry so much about the wig--it looks great too. :) I'm glad you did a breakdown of the pieces because I was going to ask about the tank and tights. The tank color is perfect, and I was like "woah, she somehow managed to get the tights looking right!" I don't know if Karen actually was wearing orange tights layered over grey ones, but I always thought it looked like she was.

Also the Asos shirt looks really, really good. Every once in awhile I think about maybe getting it for myself, but then I think about how much work I've put into the shirt I'm making (hand-drawn polka dots, omg) and I'm just like... I can't toss all that hard work away.

And I didn't know Lisa had the Jasper Conran jacket! It looks beautiful on her.

Now that I've vomited rainbows all over you... ;)

Thank you! *Massive hugs* You can vomit rainbows all over me as much as you like, it's really appreciated. Not been feeling quite so confident today, so I'm glad it's just me being me lol.

I need to get over my problem with wigs 'cause I need to wear one for Gwen, so it's no good hating on them all the while. As for the tights, I'm pretty sure she is wearing orange over grey as in some of the filming and promo pics you can see holes in her orange tights and the grey ones are peeking through lol. So yeah, I stand firm with that one. I think they would have been a little too orange on camera without.

The ASOS is great, it surprised me how good it looks! I still intend to mod it a little so it fits better (and looks more like Amy's), but I have until June to make those adjustments.

Yeah, she snagged it while everyone was over at Gally last year for pretty cheap on eBay :) It does look fantastic on her, but then, everything does haha.

Aw! *hugs hugs*

I know what you mean on wigs though. I have to wear one when I do Peri and it's sort of annoying but a necessity. (The wig I got for her last year is this fantastic lace front but either it's too small or my head is too big because you can see a tiiiiny bit of my real hair on the sides and the wig feels tight as hell.) But the Amy wig looks nice! I like that it's more of an auburn color instead of omgorange.

I heard that the Asos shirt is a bit blue, so are you planning to run it through a light dye wash or something, or does that make you a bit nervous? I've been looking at my shirt and trying to decide if it's possible to put the slits in the side like Amy's has, but my mom the seamstress is unsure.

This is the last picture I took of my shirt progress.. I've got everything done but half of one arm now. Once I started getting into it I realized the dots were maybe a smidge too big and close together, but I couldn't really start over. I bought some black buttons to replace the white ones too.

My wigs just always slide off, it doesn't matter what I do lol. I'm hoping the Gwen one will be better though 'cause it has a fringe and will hide that area if it happens.

It is, but I wouldn't want to risk it and face the possibility of ruining it. I wanted to put the slits in the side, haven't thought about how to go about it yet though. I want to shorten the sleeves too maybe, so I can then wear it without the jacket if I get hot.

That looks awesome, can't wait to see the finished result! :D
