Social Services Agency?

If, say, Rose were to start working for an organization to help kids who were on their own, maybe victims of a disaster (like Canary Wharf).....

What would you call a government office/agency that takes care of children who are orphaned or abused/neglected by their parents and needed alternative care?

Here in my part of the States we would refer to them as either Social Services or specifically in my region as DCYF (Department of Children, Youths & Families).
