OPA Thursday, August 30, 2012 breakfast - 1 cup regular Cheerios with 2% milk and blueberries, 1 cup coffee lunch/snack - 1/2 cup sunflower seeds by volume, 1/2 cup cottage cheese, fudge bar, 2 glasses orange juice, 1 glass milk with 3 Girl Scout peanut butter sandwich cookies dinner - I'm going to have an Eating Right Sweet and Sour chicken dinner - it says it's 330 calories (chicken, veggies, rice with the sauce); maybe a dessert or something afterwards during the Bears football game
activity I'm going to ride the bike, hopefully 40 minutes, and I walked around the block with Riley, though we're not playing much today - she went for her second distemper shot today and she's wore out - her shoulder where she got the shot is sore and she's just sleeping in her crate. I'm hoping she'll feel better tomorrow.
commentary this Eating Right dinner was something I bought a few months back on sale, I think it was like $1.77 with coupon on store discount card so I thought I'd try it. I know it's not going to be as good as I'd like it to be so I most likely won't be buying any more, but I might as well eat what I've got. There are a couple 'frozen dinner' things I like -- Bertolli has the meal in a bag that you do in a skillet and the chicken florentine is yummy, though I haven't bought it in quite a while since the sodium is rather high and it is processed food. The sauce is very yummy though and if I could figure out a good sauce, I could do chicken, spinach and pasta in a pan myself. I also enjoy the Stouffers turkey or chicken pot pie. I love the crust! I've tried other brands but they're not as good imo. I did see a recipe in the paper the other week for a chicken pot pie made with puff pastry, but I don't really trust my cooking skills enough to make something that would be as yummy.
